UI Police arrest man in connection with September robbery

University of Iowa Police have arrested a man believed to be involved in a robbery that occurred last month.

In a release from the Department on Tuesday, Darlin Sanchez-Vallecillo was taken into custody following their investigation into the September 24th incident.

The original Crime Alert issued by the UIPD said the incident occurred near the 100 block of Church Street. Sanchez-Vallecillo was said to be known to the police and was also an acquaintance of the victim.

He faces charges of First Degree Robbery, Second Degree Theft, 2nd offense Domestic Abuse Assault, and Interference with Official Acts. If convicted on all counts, Sanchez-Vallecillo could be sentenced to over 31 years in prison.

University Police also issued a trespass warning for the campus.
