No Iowa counties in high transmission COVID category in latest report

The latest COVID-19 report in Iowa shows good news; not only have cases dropped for the fifth consecutive week, none of the state’s 99 counties are classified in “high” transmission.

Cases dropped about 11 percent, to 1853, according to the latest numbers. Both Johnson and Linn County saw drops in cases; Johnson from 151 to 132 and Linn from 202 to 173.

Hospitalizations are up but patients in intensive care dropped by over a third, from 27 last week to just 16 this week.

The state confirmed an additional 26 deaths due to the COVID-19 virus, bringing the total to just under 10,100.
