North Liberty man accused of possessing child porn

A North Liberty man has been arrested after it was learned that he received a video featuring two children engaged in a sex act.
According to the police report, 20-year-old Khaled Al Alawneh of Alydar Drive received the video, depicting two children believed to be between 9-10 years old and 11-13 years old, engaged in the act with their genitals exposed, on September 25th 2021. Al Alawneh then transmitted the video, which he received on Whatsapp, on Instagram to two other users. He allegedly received another copy of the video on February 7th of this year, again from Whatsapp.
Al Alawneh also reportedly had images and videos of a 9 to 10 year old urinating with their genitals exposed to the camera on his cellphone.
A warrant was issued for the man’s arrest on September 29th; he was taken into custody early Tuesday morning. He faces a charge of Possession of Depiction of a Minor in a Sex Act, an aggravated misdemeanor punishable by a jail term of up to two years if convicted.
