A Cedar Rapids woman has been arrested on a warrant stemming from an alleged theft and use of another woman’s credit cards.

According to the police reports, the victim reported having her clutch purse, containing her IDs, debit and credit cards, stolen sometime during her 10 am appointment July 1st at the University of Iowa’s Dental Science Building.

52-year-old Tonya Jergensen of Agin Court Northeast and an accomplice, identified as Dwayne Lowe, arrived at the Kum & Go on South Gilbert Street that morning just before 11:30 and reportedly used one of the stolen cards to purchase over $40 in gas. They then went into the store and purchased over $25 in items using a different card.

Surveillance video shows the two leaving the Dental Science Building just before 10:30 am.

A warrant was issued for Jergensen’s arrest, and she was taken into custody Saturday afternoon. She’s been charged with Unauthorized Use of a Credit Card and 4th degree Theft. If convicted on both counts, Jergensen could be sentenced to up to three years in jail.
