A Coralville man was arrested after allegedly using a stolen credit card to spend the night in a Coralville hotel.

The Coralville PD reports that they received a report out of Iowa County of a stolen credit card and were provided with the victim’s name.  The victim stated that 43-year-old Yahya Karim of 21st Avenue Place used the woman’s card to check into the Quality Inn on West 9th Street.

Officers contacted hotel staff, and were able to look at surveillance video of the incident. It allegedly shows Karim using the stolen card to check in. Karim provided his ID during the transaction, which was provided to police. They in turn were able to positively identify him.

The cost of the hotel room was just under $100.
