An Oxford man has been arrested on an OWI warrant stemming from an August 19th incident where he allegedly had to be transported to a local hospital by ambulance after passing out and soiling himself.

The arrest report indicates that 54-year-old Steven Wright of Highway 6 Northwest was found passed out at the end of a driveway just before 11:30 that night. He reportedly told a sheriff’s deputy that he had driven to the end of the driveway to watch the lightning.

Wright allegedly had impaired balance, and kept fading off mid-sentence. During field testing, Wright reportedly got very sweaty before passing out and defecating. An ambulance was called to take him to a local hospital to be checked out. Wright submitted to a PBT but refused further testing, and was left at the hospital with staff.

A warrant for his arrest was issued August 22nd; Wright was booked at the Johnson County Jail Tuesday at around 5:30 am. He was charged with OWI first offense and released on his own recognizance later that morning. If convicted, Wright could be sentenced to up to a year in jail.
