The Iowa City Police Department is increasing its presence in and around Iowa City High School after two men reportedly approached multiple students on Friday.

The Daily Iowan reports that a student was reportedly approached by two white males on Lucas Street when walking home after school. They allegedly asked if the student wanted to play a game. The student declined and quickly headed home to notify their parents, who contacted police.

Principal John Bacon sent an email to City High family and staff on Monday and said that the men were seen in an old red minivan, and reportedly attempted to engage with multiple other students on Friday. He encouraged students to walk in groups or pairs rather than alone when they’re heading to or leaving school.

Iowa City Police have increased their patrols around the area; the two men have not been identified.
