A University of Iowa search committee has narrowed down the list of candidates for Vice President for Medical Affairs and dean of the Carver College of Medicine.
Brooks Jackson, who has been in the two positions since November of 2017, announced in February that he was stepping down. The Cedar Rapids Gazette reports that on Wednesday the search committee to find Jackson’s replacement had narrowed the field down to four finalists. The identities of the four will be released 24 hours before they come to campus for interviews. Each candidate will tour the campus, participate in open forums, and meet with faculty, staff, students, and administrators. The public is invited to attend the open forums.
The first candidate’s name will be revealed at noon on Sunday, with the first open forum set for noon to 1pm on Monday. Subsequent forums with the other candidates are set for August 25th, August 29th, and September 1st.
Jackson is continuing in his current positions until a replacement is named.
