Cedar Rapids Police are investigating a Thursday afternoon shooting that left an innocent bystander injured.
According to a CRPD news release, just before 4:15pm officers responded to calls for shots fired in the 1500 block of Bever Avenue SE. Upon arrival, police found a female victim who had been struck by an errant bullet while inside her home. She was transported to a local hospital and her injury appears to be non-life-threatening.
Investigators are currently processing evidence and interviewing possible witnesses to determine the nature of the shooting and to identify possible suspect(s). Police are asking for witnesses to come forward and for anyone with security camera footage to reach out to investigators at 319-286-5491.
