A 26-year-old Chicago man was arrested early Monday after failing to appear for his trial on Interference with Official Acts charges this January.

The incident occurred the morning of October 4th of last year at the T-Mobile store on South Riverside Drive. Officers were called to the store on reports of a man standing inside with blood on his face, staring at employees. Upon arrival, Jawan Jones of Chicago allegedly showed aggression towards officers telling them to shoot him.

Employees told police that they asked Jones to leave the premises several times without success, and told him to leave again after they notified him that they called police. Jones refused to produce an ID when officers requested one, and they made several attempts to get him to leave the store on his own power. Jones had to by physically taken into custody and escorted out of the store.

He was charged and released, with a trial date scheduled for January 12th. He was a no-show, and a warrant was issued for his arrest. Police booked him into the Johnson County Jail just before 1am Monday after arresting him for OWI. He faces up to a year in jail if convicted on that charge, plus an additional 30 days for the October incident.
