Cedar Rapids Police responded to a pair of reported shootings Friday afternoon.
The first incident was just before 4pm, when multiple callers reported gunshots near the intersection of J Avenue and Oakland Road NE. Evidence was collected and witnesses were interviewed, but no suspects have been named. A car driving through the intersection was struck, but there were no injuries.
Two hours later, just before 6pm, the CRPD received more reports of gunshots in the alleyway near C Avenue and 18th Street NE. Arriving officers found a victim with a non-life-threatening gunshot wound. Multiple shell casings were located, and a nearby garage was struck by gunfire. Officers collected evidence, but reported the victim was uncooperative.
Both incidents remain under investigation.
