Due to increased demand for on-campus housing, the University of Iowa will reopen a residence hall that’s been closed for five years.

The Daily Iowan reports that the university announced the reopening of Parklawn Residence Hall on Friday. It was closed in 2017 after Catlett Residence Hall became available for student housing.

Parklawn is located near Hancher Auditorium and features studio and one-bedroom apartments. The university is planning on offering rooms with double or triple occupancy at Parklawn as well. Up to 137 students can be accommodated there.

The U of I is also offering an expanded housing option this coming school year by converting a residence hall floor lounge into housing for up to six students on a temporary basis, until traditional rooms become available during the semester. The option will be employed at Rienow, Slater and Stanley residence halls.
