The Iowa women’s basketball team just got a top recruit commitment.

According to a post on her Twitter feed, Ava Jones has chosen to come to the University of Iowa to continue her basketball career.

The Twitter account From the Hawkeye of the Storm reports that the Nickerson, Kansas native is considered a top 100 recruit by ESPN, averaging 21 points and 15 rebounds last year. She had previously committed to Arizona State prior to a coaching change and had offers from a number of other major schools before making her decision.

After her visit to Iowa in June, Jones said, “Coaching stability is very high on my list…I’m looking to stay at a program for four years.”

She will join the Hawkeyes for the 2023-24 season.
