A raid near Solon has led to the arrest of a Dallas County man on drug and weapons charges.
24-year-old Devante Brooks of Perry was booked into the Johnson County Jail just before 5:30 Friday night.
According to the Johnson County Sheriff’s office, a search warrant was executed on a Highway 1 residence just north of Newport Road on the morning of March 16th. Deputies say they recovered 212 grams of methamphetamine and a Glock .40 caliber handgun from Brooks’ room. The gun was reported stolen out of Washington County in 2017. Investigators say Brooks acquired the gun during a meth sale.
A search of a common area allegedly turned up a large amount of narcotics, including cocaine, meth, MDMA and marijuana.
Brooks is charged with a Controlled Substance Violation, Trafficking in Stolen Weapons, Keeping Premises for the Use of a Controlled Substance and Possession of a Controlled Substance. If convicted on all charges, he faces a maximum of 33 years in prison.
