The National Weather Service says to expect a hot, stormy July 4th.
According to a Sunday morning news release, two rounds of storms are possible, of which a few could become severe with large hail and damaging winds. The 1st round…mainly north of Interstate 80…arrives Monday morning and lingers through early afternoon. The 2nd round is anticipated to develop by Monday evening.
The location of the 2nd round of storms will be determined by the track of the earlier day storms.
It’s also looking to be hot and humid for much of the area. Some areas could see heat index readings in the afternoon exceed 100 degrees – particularly south of I-80. The potential will be dependent upon storms, cloud cover and any boundaries all of which could negatively impact temperatures.
