Monday marks 27 years since the disappearance of morning TV anchor Jodi Huisintruit.

The former Iowa City reporter for KGAN became the morning anchor at a Mason City station until one morning in 1995 she failed to show up for work. Police found evidence of a struggle near her car, located outside of her apartment.

KGAN spoke to Mason City Police Chief Jeff Brinkley last year on this date; he said that with the passage of years, they’re not revealing what they know in hopes of making an arrest. He said that someday they hope to have enough evidence to present their case in court. Brinkley added that it’s important to preserve case records so that they can accurately provide information at trial.

Ms. Huisintruit’s family posted a statement today, thanking those that showed up at a rememberance, law enforcement for their continued work on her case, and two groups, FIndJodi.com and Jodi’s Network of Hope for their efforts.

Anyone with information on Huisintruit’s disappearance should contact Mason City Police or the Iowa Department of Criminal Investigation.
