A reported fight between two food delivery service employees at an Iowa City fast food restaurant has led to the arrest of a Cedar Rapids woman.

Iowa City Police were called to Taco Bell on Highway 6 East just after 8:00 Thursday night for a fight between two Doordash drivers. One of the alleged participants, 23-year-old Madeleine Lusambo of Roemig Street SW, reportedly told investigators that nothing happened. The other party had already left the scene.

Lusambo allegedly called police again just after 8:45pm to claim the other party had stolen her wallet during the altercation. The woman denied taking Lusambo’s wallet, but claimed Lusambo had stolen her car keys and requested a harassment warning. The warning was issued, and Lusambo reportedly became upset when she was told the officer was going to Taco Bell to retrieve video of the altercation. She also allegedly told the officer she was going to get her wallet back.

Police claimed Lusambo’s wallet from the Taco Bell manager. Lusambo allegedly barged into the other woman’s apartment on Broadway Street just before 10pm and tried to fight her. Arriving officers say they removed Lusambo from the residence.

Lusambo is charged with 3rd Degree Burglary and 3rd Degree Harassment. If convicted on both charges, she faces a maximum of over five years in prison.
