Iowa City Schools Superintendent Matt Degner has been given a one-year contract extension.
The Press-Citizen reports that his contract now expires in June of 2025, after being named superintendent in January 2021.
The contract extension comes with a 3.5 % raise, bringing his annual salary to $237,015.
School board President Shawn Eyestone told the newspaper that board members and school administrators found that Degner is doing well in the role, citing his focus toward equity.
