A Coralville woman has been given a deferred judgement on weapons charges after discharging a firearm during a dispute in Iowa City last summer.

The victim reported Danielle Williams pulled out a handgun during an argument on Bittersweet Court in August of 2020 and fired a round over her head. A bullet was found at the scene which matched a Ruger 9mm handgun that was later recovered from an apartment on the Coralville Strip.

Williams was initially charged with two counts of Dominion or Control of an Offensive Weapon by a Domestic Abuser and one count each of Intimidation with a Dangerous Weapon with Intent to Injure or Provoke Fear and Marijuana Possession.  Earlier this week Williams was given a deferred judgement on two of the charges with the other two being dismissed.

Williams was sentenced to seven days in jail for a no-contact order violation after police say she confronted the victim at the Mormon Trek Boulevard Kum & Go in April.
