The National Weather Service is predicting a warm, dry June for Eastern Iowa.

That’s according to the organization’s latest Central Region Climate Outlook, released Friday night.
The predictor indicates a 33-50% chance of above-average temperatures for Johnson County in June, with higher chances to the south and lower to the north. The June precipitation forecast for all of Eastern Iowa indicates an equal chance of above or below average precipitation.

The three-month forecast for June, July and August calls for a 33-40% chance of above average temperatures and an equal chance of above or below average precipitation.

The National Weather Service also says drought conditions are likely in Iowa and areas to the south and west.
