As part of Mental Health Awareness Month, the Iowa City Office of Equity and Human Rights is hosting a training on reducing the stigma of mental illness in the workplace.
In a release from the office, an estimated 1 in 5 adults in the U.S. experience mental illness each year and while we may not always know it, every workplace has employees who are experiencing mental illness. The session will provide attendees with information on basic mental health awareness, highlight myths and misconceptions about mental illness, and address strategies that can be implemented to reduce bias and influence change in work culture to reduce the stigmas of mental illness in the workplace.
The program will take place at noon on Wednesday via Zoom. A link to register for the session:
The session is expected to take about an hour.
