A Coralville man was arrested on a warrant stemming from an alleged domestic incident in Lone Tree.

According to the criminal complaint, 50-year-old Jesse Carter of Holiday Road was at the victim’s residence on the afternoon of April 12th. Deputies were called for a report of a possible domestic, and made contact with the victim upon arrival. She told them that Carter had assaulted her.

According to her narrative, Carter grabbed her head and hair and slammed it into a glass cabinet, breaking the glass. He then allegedly grabbed her arms and pulled her backwards to the floor, where she cut her wrist on a metal floor grate.

The woman was bleeding from the forehead and had small bits of glass embedded there, and was bleeding from the wrist.

A check of Carter’s criminal activity shows three previous domestic assault convictions in Washington County, the latest being in 2016.

A warrant was issued the next day, and Carter was arrested Tuesday afternoon. He’s been charged with Domestic Assault 3rd or Subsequent Offense, a Class D Felony punishable by a prison term of up to five years if convicted.

A no-contact order was requested by the victim and granted by Judge Jason Burns.
