An Iowa City man faces a litany of drug and weapons charges stemming from an incident earlier this year.

25-year-old Dejuan Jamison was booked into the Johnson County Jail just after 4:45 Thursday morning. Iowa City Police pulled over Jamison and served search warrants on his vehicle during a traffic stop around 6pm on February 20th near the intersection of 1st Avenue and Mall Drive. Investigators say Jamison’s vehicle contained 13 individually packaged baggies containing 70 grams of marijuana, vacuum-sealed baggies containing about 275 grams of marijuana, packaging materials, three handguns, and over $30,000 in cash.

A subsequent search of Jamison’s Shamrock Place residence reportedly turned up more marijuana, THC edibles, MDMA pills, three more firearms, a currency counter and various ammunition and magazines. One of the guns was listed as stolen. Another firearm was found with illegal substances in an area where they could be accessed by a child.

Jamison is charged with two counts of Possession of a Controlled Substance and one count each of Trafficking in Stolen Weapons, a Controlled Substance Violation, Failure to Affix a Drug Tax Stamp, Keeping Premises for the Use of a Controlled Substance, Child Endangerment and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. If convicted on all charges, Jamison faces a maximum of over 21 years in prison.
