Iowa City Police are investigating a robocall that was made to West High School Monday, claiming there would be a weapon on campus at some point in the school day.

KWWL TV reports that the call came into the school’s messaging system sometime in the morning, and  uniformed officers were sent to the school. Police found no information to discredit the threat, but also felt it was unnecessary to change the normal operations of the school day.

Public Information Officer for the city, Lee Hermiston, said uniformed officers were present all day and during after-school activities, including the track meet at West High Monday afternoon.

Police presence today will depend on the District’s request. Iowa City Police are still investigating the incident.
