An Altoona woman’s weekend started badly when she was pulled over for a traffic stop and allegedly fought with officers.
Police stopped 38-year-old Lacey Debrower on Old Highway 218 at McCollister Boulevard Friday just after 7 pm and told her to exit her vehicle. She allegedly refused to get out of the Chevy S10 she was operating, ignoring all lawful orders to do so. Police say they had to physically remove Debrower from the vehicle as she grabbed onto objects inside to stop them from doing so.
When she was finally removed from the vehicle, Debrower allegedly struck officers several times and was pinned against the vehicle to attempt to handcuff her. She then reportedly urinated on and bit an officer, injuring their hand. Debrower also allegedly hit an officer in the face and continued to ignore commands to stop resisting.
During a search incident to the arrest, Debrower allegedly was found with a baggie containing a substance consistent with meth.
A check of the woman’s record showed her driving status as barred and over three prior controlled substance possession convictions.
Debrower was charged with Interference with Official Acts causing Bodily Injury, Possession of a Controlled Substance 3rd or subsequent, Driving While Barred, simple Assault on Persons in Certain Occupations, and Assault on Persons in Certain Occupations causing Bodily Injury. She faces up to eleven years in prison if convicted on all counts.
