A Cedar Rapids woman who reportedly brought a 7-year-old to a drug deal was sentenced to federal prison Monday.
KWWL TV reports that in a plea agreement back in September, 25-year-old Paige Axler admitted to distributing at least fifty grams of pure meth
Evidence showed that Axler distributed two ounces of ice meth on two occasions in December 2020. She allegedly brought a 7-year-old child with her to the first incident, and in the second obtained the drug at a hotel room from someone before selling it to another person.
Axler was sentenced to 45 months in prison and five years of supervised release.
Court records show that the woman also faces 2nd degree Theft charges from a February 2021 incident in Poweshiek County. A pre-trial conference is scheduled for this coming Monday.
