Virginia man pleads guilty in Solon case involving inappropriate conduct with a minor

A Virginia man has reached a plea deal in a case involving him allegedly providing alcohol to and having inappropriate contact with a minor.

24-year-old Sergey Whitt of Chester, VA entered the plea deal Friday in Johnson County Court. Whitt is accused of providing alcohol to a 13-year-old girl near Lake MacBride around 10:30pm on August 5th, 2018. According to arrest records, Whitt also touched the girl in an inappropriate, sexual way in a beach parking lot on Lake MacBride Road. Last November he was arrested and charged with 3rd Degree Sexual Abuse and Supplying Alcohol to a Person Under Age. If convicted on both charges, he would have faced a maximum of 11 years in prison.

Online records show Whitt has agreed to plead guilty to three charges of Indecent Contact with a Child. His maximum sentence is now six years behind bars.

A sentencing hearing has not yet been set.
