A transient who claimed he was a former Hawkeye and City High football player was arrested early Thursday morning after police say he urinated outside a popular Iowa City nightspot.

Iowa City Police were called to Joe’s Place on Iowa Avenue just before 2:30am for an intoxicated subject cursing at staff and refusing to leave. Arriving officers say the suspect, 43-year-old Travis Hill, was acting belligerently when they arrived. He also showed signs of intoxication.

Hill allegedly claimed he was former Hawkeye and City High football star Tim Dwight. Police say he then walked down the street, pulled down his sweatpants and urinated on a sign. Hill was arrested and charged with Public Intoxication, Harassment of a Public Official, Providing False Identity Information and Public Urination or Defecation. His breath alcohol level was measured at .017%.

If convicted on all charges, Hill faces a maximum of 90 days in jail.
