The former Coralville firefighter who died in the line of duty last week in Arkansas will be buried here next week.

Jason Lang had just started his career with the West Memphis Arkansas Fire Department. On February 26th, he was stuck by a semi-truck along the side of an interstate after reportedly stopping to assist the scene of a crash while he was on the way to an EMT training class in Pine Bluff.

Lang was a member of the Coralville Fire Department for about a year before taking the job in West Memphis. He went to Liberty High School. His father Joe was a University of Iowa police officer for over 30 years, and his brother Nathaniel currently is a member of the Coralville Fire Department.

Funeral arrangements have been announced for Lang; visitation will be at Parkview Church this Tuesday from 4-7pm. The funeral service, with full Fire Department honors, will be at the church Wednesday morning.

Lang was just 20 years old.
