An Iowa City teen faces charges that he tried to extort another teen, then forced her into a sex act.
Iowa City Police say the 16-year-old suspect obtained video of the juvenile victim engaged in a sex act with another person. The boy then allegedly told the girl to perform the same sex act on him or else he would post the video to social media.
When the girl confronted the boy, he allegedly grabbed her and physically forced her to commit the act. Police say the boy denied the assault, but a video he recorded of the incident was found on his phone and the phone of an unidentified co-defendant.
The boy is charged with 3rd Degre Sexual Abuse. If convicted, he faces a maximum of ten years in prison.
