Iowa City police have concluded their investigation into a suspicious man who approached a group of children walking to school Wednesday morning and offered them a ride.
The children reported they were walking in the area of Shamrock Drive and Arbor Drive when they were approached by a man who remarked on the morning’s cold temperatures and offered the children a ride to school. After declining additional offers, the children continued to school and reported the encounter to an adult.
Authorities located the man and spoke with him. They believe that his actions were not intended to cause alarm or be harmful, and no charges were filed.
