The candidate slate has been finalized for the North Liberty special election on March 15th.
An open City Council seat became available after former Counselor Chris Hoffman was elected mayor. His Council seat term expires December 31st, 2023.
Three candidates have filed their papers to participate in the election; Ashley Bermel, Samantha Gulick and Robert Strickland.
Early voting begins on Monday at the Johnson County Auditor’s Office on South Dubuque Street in Iowa City. You can request a ballot by mail, but that request must be received by 5pm Monday.
The election will be held on March 15th; voters will cast their ballots at the North Liberty Community Center on West Cherry Street from 7 am to 8 pm.
