Donutland is returning to Iowa City.
That announcement came as part of a Sunday Facebook post from Daylight Donuts on 1st Avenue. The company says the location has been sold to Donutland, which will convert the location into the first Iowa City area Donutland location in over a decade.
The last Iowa City Donutland was located next to Delimart on Highway 1 West. That store closed in the early 2010’s, and the location has hosted a number of unsuccessful restaurants since then. Donutland’s Coralville Strip location closed in 2004.
The Daylight Donuts post says Donutland will open at the new location, between the 1st Avenue Mini-Mall and the former Pla-Mor Lanes location, on March 1st.
