Johnson County Sheriff’s deputies say an intoxicated Iowa City man was found with multiple firearms after his arrest on drunk driving charges Friday night.
25-year-old Sergio Martinez of Tracy Lane was stopped by officers near the intersection of Marengo Road and Park Road in Tiffin after they say they saw him fishtailing his car as he was speeding away from Bryant’s Bar and Grill.
Deputies say Martinez showed multiple signs of intoxication. Multiple firearms were reportedly found on his person and within his reach.
Martinez allegedly performed poorly on field sobriety tests and registered a breath alcohol level of .111%. He was arrested and charged with Operating While Intoxicated – 2nd Offense and Carrying Weapons While Intoxicated. If convicted on both charges, he faces a maximum of three years in prison.
