A Coralville woman who received a deferred judgement and probation after a string of thefts from the University of Iowa Rec & Wellness Center in 2019 has been arrested after an alleged residential theft.

27-year-old Tamara Longmire of Holiday Road was at the victim’s residence on 20th Avenue at around 12:40pm last Friday when she allegedly entered the bedroom closet and removed three one-hundred-dollar bills from the man’s emergency money shoe box without his permission. Longmire then left the apartment with the bills concealed on her person. She also is accused of threatening to kill the man, and threatened to have someone else come to the residence and kill him.

A warrant was issued for Longmire’s arrest on Monday; she was taken into custody Tuesday afternoon. She faces charges of 3rd degree Theft and 1st degree Harassment and could be sentenced to up to four years in jail if convicted.

Longmire was on probation from the Rec and Wellness thefts. According to UI Police, Longmire and another woman stole phones, cash, credit cards and debit cards from the Campus Recreation and Wellness Center women’s locker room on May 24th, 2019. She then went directly to Coral Ridge Mall and used the stolen cards to purchase nearly $1300 in goods and services.

Judge Chad Kepros sentenced Longmire to 3 years of probation on March 3rd 2020 for Unauthorized use of a Credit Card . 2nd degree theft charges were dismissed by the court. Friday’s incident is a violation of her probation and she could have another five years added to her sentence if convicted on all charges.
