A gas leak forced the temporary evacuation of a house just south of Iowa City Thursday morning.
According to the Hills Fire Department Facebook page, crews were called to a house on Dane Road near its intersection with Mormon Trek Boulevard just after 7:30 Thursday morning. The Johnson County Sheriff’s Office directed traffic while the situation was handled.
Investigators found the leak coming from a stove. The issue was resolved, and Hills firefighters and representatives from Mid-American energy inspected the home and declared it safe.
