Iowa City Police have arrested a suspect with a history of car burglary convictions for allegedly committing the same offense.

20-year-old Jeiden Fair is accused of entering a car parked in a driveway on Dickenson Lane just before 6:15 Tuesday morning.  Police say surveillance video shows Fair leaving one car, then unsuccessfully trying to enter another before leaving on foot. The video is reportedly well-lit and of good quality, clearly showing Fair’s face.

Fair has a history of car burglaries, and police say he was wearing the same sweatshirt in the video as in his Facebook photo. He’s charged with 3rd Degree Burglary of a Motor Vehicle, Attempted 3rd Degree Burglary of a Motor Vehicle and Possession of a Controlled Substance. The last charge came after Fair reportedly had marijuana on his person when he was taken into custody at his Amber Lane residence just after 5pm Saturday.

If convicted on all charges, Fair faces a maximum of four years in prison.
