Allegedly entering an apartment through a window to assault one of the residents has led to an Iowa City man’s arrest.
According to Coralville Police, 22-year-old Arron Walker of The Quarters on Highway 6 East forced his way through the window of an apartment on 9th Avenue just before 12:15am on January 28th. He reportedly did so after a resident told him to wait outside.
Once inside the apartment, Walker allegedly slapped one of the residents in the face. Police say he then took a cellphone away from the alleged victim, who was trying to call 9-1-1.
Arrest records indicate the alleged victim had recently broken off a relationship with Walker, making him angry. Walker had been staying at the address, and still had belongings inside the apartment.
Walker was booked into the Johnson County Jail just before 3:45 Sunday morning and charged with Assault Causing Bodily Injury. If convicted, he faces a maximum of one year in jail.
