The Johnson County Board of Supervisors unanimously agreed to lower the Board of Compensation’s 18 percent salary increase, coming up with a smaller raise for themselves than other elected officials included in the proposal. The amount of the increase for the supervisors remains unresolved.

The Daily Iowan reports that Supervisors Rod Sullivan, Pat Heiden and Jon Green approved lowering that figure to 2.25 percent for supervisors, with a 4.42 percent increase for all other elected officials, including the county attorney, sheriff, auditor, treasurer and recorder.

Supervisor Lisa Green-Douglas favored the 4.42 percent increase across the board.

If Supervisors get the smaller salary increase, they will be making $89,129 yearly starting July 1st.

The board will vote on elected official pay and their 2023 fiscal year budget next month.
