An underage man is accused of calling Iowa City police because a downtown bar wouldn’t let him back in to their establishment. He now faces charges after allegedly being found with a fake ID and in a state of intoxication.

19-year old Gabriel Lavigne of Great Falls South Carolina allegedly called police to report his girlfriend was in the Summit Bar at 12:50 am Sunday and was upset that staff wouldn’t let him back in even though he himself is underage. When officers came in contact with him, Lavigne reportedly had bloodshot watery eyes, impaired speech, unsteady balance, and had the odor of ingested alcohol. He refused a post arrest PBT. He also was allegedly discovered with a completely fictitious Florida ID that had his name, but a different date of birth making him appear to be of legal drinking age.

Lavigne was charged with public intoxication and possession of a fake ID. He faces up to 13 months in jail if convicted on both counts.
