UIHC names new Chief Operating Officer

The University of Iowa Hospitals & Clinics has hired their new Chief Operating Officer.
In a release from the UIHC, Emily C. Blomberg, who has a Masters in Healthcare Administration, comes to Iowa from Hennepin Healthcare in Minneapolis, Minnesota.
At Hennepin, Blomberg served as COO, leading the organization’s COVID-19 pandemic response and overseeing all surgical, ambulatory, pharmacy, clinical laboratory, information technology, and facility-related services.
She will have similar duties here. Blomberg will oversee the management of patient care operations, ancillary services, and related support services at UI Hospitals & Clinics. She is expected to work with leaders from all aspects of the UI Health Care system to develop strategies to strengthen inpatient, outpatient, and surgical services at all facilities.
Blomberg begins her duties March 14th.
