An Iowa City woman was taken into custody early Monday after allegedly assaulting another resident in her apartment complex.
Police say the incident occurred just after 1am, when 45-year-old Micole Lane of South Johnson Street knocked on the door of the victim. When the victim answered, they were allegedly met with several punches at Lane’s hand, causing the victim’s nose to bleed.
Lane reportedly said multiple times that she “kicked the victim’s ass” in the hallway after a verbal altercation between stemming from the victim knocking and/or beating on Lane’s door.
Lane was taken into custody and charged with Assault Causing Bodily Injury, a serious misdemeanor punishable by up to a year in jail if convicted.
