A Coralville man was arrested following an auto accident that tied up traffic on Highway 218 Saturday night.
Johnson County Sheriff’s deputies were called to the accident scene at the Hills exit just before 6:30pm. They determined that the driver of an involved 2015 Chevy Trax, 61-year-old John Gibson of 10th Street, admitted to drinking and showed signs of intoxication. He reportedly failed field sobriety tests and registered a breath alcohol content of .148%.
Gibson is charged with Operating While Intoxicated – 2nd Offense.
