A man who allegedly absconded from Hope House is back behind bars.
36-year-old Timothy Kriz was booked into the Johnson County Jail just before 9:30 Sunday night. According to arrest records, Kriz was found missing during a head count at the Holiday Road facility just after 2:15pm on August 8th. Security video reportedly shows Kriz walking away from Hope House just after 2pm.
Kriz was sentenced to the Coralville facility after a series of drug convictions. He’s now charged with Escape From Custody, a Serious Misdemeanor punishable by a maximum of one year in jail.
Records show he’s escaped from custody on other occasions in the past.
