A trial date has been set for a Wellman woman accused of embezzling over $17,000 from her employer in Riverside.

46-year-old Amy Frantz pleaded not guilty to a 1st Degree Theft charge during a Friday court hearing. Judge Mary Ann Brown then set a trial date for May 3rd.

According to arrest records, loss prevention for Casey’s General Stores contacted the Washington County Sheriff’s Office on November 18th to report that Frantz, who at the time was the manager of the company’s Riverside location, had exercised control of stolen property totaling over $17,000.
Surveillance video shows Frantz leaving the store with a bank deposit bag, but she reportedly never made the deposit.

Frantz allegedly admitted to investigators on December 2nd that she stole money from the store over the span of three months. If convicted, she faces a maximum of ten years in prison.

A case management conference is set for April 15th.
