Muscatine teen to be arraigned next week after allegedly striking school worker with vehicle

The Muscatine teen accused of hitting a Muscatine High School worker with his vehicle is to be arraigned next week.

The Muscatine Journal reports that 18-year-old Rudy Rada has a 9:30 court time on January 14th.

Rada is accused of driving a vehicle that struck a traffic person at around 3:30 pm at Muscatine High on December 16th. According to police, the victim was trying to redirect a vehicle driven by Rada that was attempting to drive in an unauthorized direction. When the traffic staffer tried to stop him, Rada allegedly accelerated and hit the woman, driving over her foot.

The criminal complaint also alleges that Rada tried to conceal the location of the vehicle and did not maintain possession of it.

Rada has been charged with assault while displaying a dangerous weapon, reckless driving and leaving the scene of an accident. A no-contact order was issued between Rada and the woman.
