Allegedly vandalizing three cars near her residence has led to an Iowa City woman’s arrest.
Johnson County Sheriff’s deputies say 31-year-old Evelyn Chinchilla of the Lake Ridge manufactured housing community confessed to deputies that on the night of October 29th she broke rear car windows out of a 2015 Toyota Camry and a 2017 Toyota Camry parked near her Basswood Lane residence. She also allegedly admitted to scratching the rear side windows of a 2005 Jeep Grand Cherokee.
Chinchilla was booked into the Johnson County Jail just before 5:15 Monday morning and charged with 3rd Degree Criminal Mischief, an Aggravated Misdemeanor punishable by a maximum of two years in jail.
Chinchilla was given a seven-day jail sentence last July after she spit on, assaulted and injured two people at Walgreens on the Coralville Strip. Police say she bit one woman and pulled another’s hair out of her scalp after they asked her to wear a mask inside the store.
