A fight over a proposed alcohol run has led to assault and child endangerment charges against a rural Johnson County man.
Johnson County Sheriff’s deputies were called to an address on Calkins Avenue SW near Windham just after 9:30 Saturday night. Responding officers say 27-year-old Jordan Mack had been in a verbal argument with a woman about him wanting to go into town to get more alcohol. Mack allegedly shoved the woman onto a bed and pulled her sweatshirt collar, causing an abrasion to her neck.
Deputies say the couple’s one-year-old and five-year-old children were present at the time of the incident.
Mack was arrested and charged with Domestic Abuse Assault Causing Injury, Domestic Abuse Assault and two counts of Child Endangerment. If convicted on all charges, he faces a maximum of over five years in prison.
