A registered sex offender is back behind bars after police say he failed to report his eviction from a Coralville motel.

According to Coralville Police, 57-year-old Everett Strohbusch had been working and living at the Residence Inn on James Street since at least September, which is when he changed his address on the Iowa Sex Offender Registry to the motel . On December 20th officers contacted Residence Inn management to confirm Strohbusch was still living there. They were told he was terminated on December 1st and told to no longer remain on the property or stay in a room. Strohbusch reportedly failed to update his employment status and place of residence.

Strohbusch was booked into the Johnson County Jail just after 3pm Tuesday and charged with a 2nd Offense Sex Offender Registry Violation. If convicted he faces a maximum of five years in prison.

Strohbusch was convicted of 2nd Degree Sexual Assault of a Child and Exposing a Child to Harmful Material in Wisconsin in 2008.
