An area transient who got himself arrested for incidents on two consecutive days last week has been taken into custody for allegedly breaking out a vehicle window while highly intoxicated and threatening the lives of police officers.

Coralville Police say the incident occurred at around 6:50 pm Monday near the intersection of Holiday Road and Coral Ridge Avenue. 39-year-old Nicholas Swee allegedly picked up a rock the size of an egg and threw it at a vehicle, breaking out the passenger rear window. Damage was estimated at $500, and witnesses told officers that Swee appeared highly intoxicated and could hardly walk.

Swee was located in the parking lot of the Kum & Go on Holiday Road. He allegedly had bloodshot watery eyes, the odor of ingested alcohol, and slurred speech. As they were approaching Swee, he allegedly grabbed a bottle of windshield washer fluid and threw it at an occupied and parked vehicle.

Swee refused to provide a post-arrest PBT.

While being transported to the Coralville Police Department, Swee reportedly told an officer that once he took his shirt off, he would slit the officer’s throat. He then allegedly told the officer that once he got out of jail, he was going to purchase an AK 47 and blast the officer’s head off. Swee added that the officer needed to keep his eyes out, because he was going to get him on the street.

The alleged harassment didn’t stop with that officer. Once at the PD, he reportedly told another officer to be aware of his surroundings because once he got out of jail, Swee would find the officer and blast him in the head. He allegedly added that once the officer was dead, it would be hard for him to do anything about it.

Last week, Swee was arrested on the 20th for allegedly trashing a North Liberty residence he had been evicted from, then was taken into custody the next afternoon for Public Intoxication and Assault on Officers in Certain Occupations during an incident in the Iowa City Ped Mall.

Monday’s incidents find Swee charged with two counts of 1st degree Harassment, one count of 4th degree criminal mischief, and Public Intoxication. He could face over five years in prison if convicted on all charges.
